Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about PicCal
What is PicCal?
PicCal is a tool that allows you to add events to your calendar from an image. You know, the texts, emails and flyers full of dates you need to remember to keep your kids' busy schedules straight? PicCal can read any of those and generate a calendar event for each one. Or, thinking smaller - those annoying little business card appointment reminders you get from the doctor, dentist, optometrist? The ones you immediately lose or can't read? PicCal can manage those too. Just snap a pic and upload to PicCal.
How does it work?
PicCal uses AI to analyze your photos and extract event details like date, time, location, and description. Once the details are extracted, you can review them and add the event to your calendar with a single click.
What types of events can I add?
You can add any type of event that has clear date and time information. This includes:
- Appointment cards
- Event flyers
- Text messages with event details
- Handwritten notes
- Email invitations
- Academic calendars
- Sports calendars
Which calendars are supported?
Google Calendar, iCalendar, Outlook, Office365
Can I edit the event details?
Yes, you can review and edit all event details before adding them to your calendar. You can do this either in the PicCal interface or on the actual calendar event that is generated. This ensures the information is accurate and formatted correctly.
How much does it cost?
It's free…for now! We're still testing out all the functionality so for a limited time, you can try it out for free. And as an early user, we'll show our gratitude in future promo codes.
What if the AI makes a mistake?
If the AI doesn't extract the information correctly, you can manually edit the details. We're constantly improving our AI to make it more accurate, but we understand that manual review is sometimes necessary.
Is my data secure?
Yes, we take your privacy extremely seriously. All photos are processed securely and are not stored permanently. We only use the information to create calendar events and do not share your data with third parties.
